We hereby announce that the following personnel changes effective on November 29, 2018. Since Katsuaki Sato, founder of Metaps Inc., became CEO in 2007, under his strong leadership, the company has been fully engaged in creating customer value through expanding its business domain from marketing to finance and other new businesses.

To further bolster our business competitiveness and reinforce the earnings structure, the company is announcing a series of changes at the top.

Sato will remain as Chairman and continue to be primarily involved in generating new businesses ideas with long-term perspective while Yamazaki, new CEO, is responsible for the day to day management of the business.

・Representative Director and Chairman : Katsuaki Sato

Sato is founder and current Chairman of Metaps. Launched “Metaps”, the data-driven app monetization platform, in 2011 and started the business in eight locations worldwide. Sato started the online payment platform, in 2013. Metaps was listed on TSE Mothers in 2015. Sato was awarded “THE START-UP OF THE YEAR 2015” by Forbes, and selected as one of the “Top 100 Global Players in Japan” by AERA, also in 2015. Sato is the author of “The Money 2.0” and “How to predict the Future”.

・Representative Director and President : Yuichiro Yamazaki

Yamazaki joined Deutsche Securities Inc. in 2006 where, he was actively involved in M&A and the financing of telecom media and technology (TMT) sectors. After working at Deutsche Securities, he founded his own technology company in Kyoto where he served as CEO. Joined Metaps as CFO in 2011. Prior to becoming CEO, Yamazaki served as Vice President since 2016.

・Director : Yoichi Wada

Yoichi started his career at the investment bank, Nomura Securities. In 2000, he joined Square and became the CEO. When Square merged with Enix, he became the new company’s president and representative director. Under his presidency, Square Enix acquired the video game company Taito, in 2005, and the British video game publisher Eidos Interactive in 2009. Yoichi served as CEO of Square Enix Group for more than ten years. He has been chairman of the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA) since May 2006. He joined Metaps in 2015.

・Director(Audit & Supervisory Committee member) : Ken Takayama

Ken started his career at The Industrial Bank of Japan, Limited (now Mizuho Bank) in 1988. During that time, he was actively involved in retail sales and M&A advisory business. In November 1999, he joined Rakuten, Inc. as a Senior Director, where he was initially involved in overall IPO-related business, and later took on the role of CFO in February 2010. He was an Executive Advisor of Rakuten, Inc. from March 2013 until his resignation in March 2014. He joined Metaps Inc. in September 2016 as a corporate advisor and he took on the role of outside director in November of the same year. Appointed as a member of audit and supervisory committee in 2018.

・Director(Audit & Supervisory Committee member) : Akira Kanemura

Joined Nikko Securities Inc. in 1970 and has devoted himself to sales. After filling the post as Manager of branch offices nationwide, he became Corporate Officer in 1998, and was assigned as General Manager of Kanto Corporate Regional Division. Later he took a post as Managing Director of Nikko Enterprise Co., Ltd., then joined Alpha Systems Inc. as Managing Director in 2001. He contributed his efforts for the Investors Relations office, Management Audit division and then as Managing Officer of Product Sales division until resigning in 2009. From 2009, he became an Advisor for AIU Insurance Company, then joined Metaps Inc. as Auditor in 2011. Appointed as a member of audit and supervisory committee in 2018.

・Director(Audit & Supervisory Committee member) : Tomoya Yoshikawa

Joined Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLC in 1996 where he was involved in statutory audits of trading firms, biotech companies and other startups. In that role, he also provided support to firms in respect to public offerings and the strengthening of their internal management systems. In 2011, he opened up his own accounting office, and joined Metaps Inc. as Auditor in 2015. Appointed as a member of audit and supervisory committee in 2018.

・Auditor : Richard Zheng

After graduating The University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Public Policy, He advanced his career at Mitsubishi Corporation, and Recruit Holdings. In 2013, he joined Metaps as Representative of Chinese operations and became Executive Officer (in charge of business strategy in Greater China) in February 2016. He also has been taking charge of General Manager of Greater China Head Office.

・Auditor : Daisuke Hara

Started his career at Nikko Securities (now SMBC Nikko Securities), and advanced his career at Investment Banking Division of Nikko Salomon Smith Barney Securities (now Citigroup Global Markets Japan ). After heading Management Department at several Biotechnology and IT startups, joined Metaps and became Audit and General Manager of Management Division.

・Auditor : Hiroki Haginoya

Certified Public Accountant. Advanced his career at ChuoAoyama Audit, and ShinNihon LLC as CPA where he was involved in statutory audits and also provided supports to firms in respect to public offerings. After he took on the role of Accountant Manager at ALLIED TELESIS HOLDINGS, joined Metaps as Audit and General Manager of Finance and Accounting Division.

・Auditor : Heejoong Yun

Joined Merrill Lynch Japan Securities in 2001 where he was involved in all aspects of the investment banking services inclusive of financing the various firms, Initial Public Offerings, M&A advisories. Then joined Metaps as Audit and General Manager of Corporate Development Division and also, as General Manager of Korea Head Office.

・Auditor : Seiji Takagi

Joined Nomura Securities and devoted himself to sales. After co-founded a mobile-advertisement agency, he joined Metaps as Audit and General Manager of Marketing Division in December 2017. Prior to becoming Audit, he served as Representative Director of Become. From January 2018, he will also be appointed as Representative Director of Metaps One.  United States Certified Public Accountant. Real Estate Transaction Agent.
